Overhang for days. Only $10K right now on BaT. Has a 440 under the hood so it might have a little scoot.

And when you’re not taking the family to get plywood you can drive your sporty-car overhangmobile.

I always like the “garbage truck handles ” on these. If the kids are being extra annoying you can just make them stand on the back bumper and hold on.

Right after they lend me $12k......
But if I get it first, you won’t need it anymore, so maybe you could just give me the $12k they lend you?

It reminds me of my parent's old wagon. Growing up we had a 1979 Buick LeSabre wagon. In brown, of course. The rear overhang would often scrape the road when pulling out of any sort of driveway, and hit the bottom of the trailer hitch on the road.

Fuselage wagons were so extra, it’s hard not to love them. They didn’t sell too well, though they did give us some rare examples of wagons with hidden
headlights. The ‘73 Polara in your photos, of course, has exposed headlights. Still, if I had $11k...

I helped a friend buy an almost exact copy (except well used) in 1982 . She was graduating from c ollege in Wisconsin and moving to her new job in Albuqurque NM. She needed the space of a truck and this was a close second for a lot less cost . It started and ran and other than it would overheat driving in Texas June heat if you ran the AC in the day , it did the trip without a problem.
She sold it upon arrival and got a real car. It may of had a 440 as I understood the buyer wanted it for the engine.
